10 Tips for Seattle: My Travel Diary

10 Tips for Seattle: My Travel Diary

For a long time I was looking forward to my trip to Seattle. A few days after my birthday as well as after a period of exams at university, I was back on the plane this time towards North America. Seattle is the favorite Condor destination for many of my work colleagues, so I was even more excited to see how I would like it there. From the airport into the city you can already see a wide skyline on the horizon and a bit it reminded me of New York even if Seattle is often compared to Portland. In the blogpost Portland Tips & Travel Diary: North America Trip I reported about my stay in Portland and maybe you can get a better picture from that. If I had to choose between Portland and Seattle, I would choose Seattle. Seattle is a very clean city, it is located in the water, everything is easily accessible on foot (which is rather the exception in America). Besides the big chain stores, there are also many small boutiques with unique pieces (which is also rather an exception in America). Also, the city is growing. You can find many beautiful, modern and luxurious new buildings and many construction sites with big projects. The other day I even read that airbnb is investing in new landlords in Seattle and wants to expand there. I'm curious to see where the trend will develop and whether Seattle may even soon be the luxurious New York. At least it is known that Bill Gates comes from Seattle and pumps money into the city.

Apart from that you can see and experience a lot in Seattle. There is, for example, a sightseeing flight with the seaplane, which I would like to do next time, or a walk along the harbor at the famous Seattle Great Wheel Ferris wheel. You can visit the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum, hit the food stalls at the Pike Place Market and enjoy the legendary Sea Food, watch the Seattle Seahawks (American Football) or the Seattle Mariners play a game in the stadium or look at the famous Gum Wall. A great vantage point is at Kerry Park or on the Space Needle skyscraper (admission is cheapest in the morning).

I hope that you are interested in such blogposts and that I could give you some tips. Feel free to write me if you would like to read more such blogposts or if I should rather write the whole thing as a personal travel diary. Do you prefer reading travel guides or personal travel diaries? I'm not quite sure yet how to write about my travels here on the blog. Feedback is always welcome!
