Ptolemy Mann, British textile designer and color consultant, likes to experiment. For her "Colourfield" kilims, for example, she developed a process in which wool threads are only partially dipped in a dye bath, resulting in very vivid ikat effects when woven. The knotted rugs in her "Mid Century Modern Collection" pay homage to the color (circle) theories of Paul Klee, Johannes Itten and Josef Albers. The Bauhaus weaves!
