With the Samsung POWERbot against cat hair and dirt - A test
Every cat owner wages it - the endless battle against cat hair. Not only the consumption of lint rollers increases immeasurably, but also the time cat owners spend vacuuming. Wouldn't it be great if you could save this time and invest it in cat crawling.
Luckily, there are vacuuming robots that just drive around the apartment and do this annoying work. In our house, the POWERbot from Samsung has recently moved in and since then has already swallowed at least hair for a whole wool sweater. Of course, the POWERbot also makes everyday life easier for any non-cat owner.
How smart is the part really? Does it recognize obstacles and can it drive over higher edges? I asked myself these questions and a few more. You'll get the answers right here.
How smart is the Samsung POWERbot really?
I have to admit, I was always quite skeptical about vacuum cleaner robots. Far too often you heard of accidents á la falling down stairs or stumpy and repeated driving against the wall. The suction power was also often described as poor. But of course, there are also big differences in quality in the field of robot vacuums. As with all things just.
The POWERbot is equipped with a Visonary Mapping Plus System. With the help of sensors and a digital camera, this ensures that the robot vacuum cleaner scans the entire apartment. It calculates the most effective route and then follows it. After he has completely processed his route, he drives back to his station.
I have the impression that it took him a few passes to map the entire apartment. Now he's really going strictly according to his plan, room by room.
The FullView Sensor lets the POWERbot detect even very inconspicuous obstacles like delicate chair legs, plant stands and side tables.
For me, this is probably one of the most important features, as I can't always keep all my chairs and plants safe. Especially not when I start the part on the go with the APP.
The POWERbot is not only smart, but also obeys on word
Or to the key command. Independence is all well and good, but sometimes you still want to be the master of the situation. With the remote control, you can let the vacuum robot go anywhere. Even with a laser dot. It's almost like pointing your finger at dirt while someone else is cleaning. It does make you feel a bit bad. But only a tiny bit.
This function is very useful when the cats have cleaned half of the litter out of their toilet.
The POWERbot can also be easily programmed to work at a specific time every day, for example. The suction power can also be regulated in three stages.
So how does the POWERbot handle cat hair?
After three weeks of testing against the end boss cat hair, I am really excited about the vacuum robot. Since it has been making its rounds through the apartment every day, no more mealy bugs get in my way.
I must say that it is definitely a relief. Due to my self-employment, I work from home, but still often don't have time and don't feel like vacuuming all the time. The POWERbot just drives around while I sit at my desk. A dream.
Of course, it not only sucks up cat hair, but everything else as well. Its suction power is so strong that it even sucks up medium-sized screws and nails. They can be lying around in the study.
Especially flat and nice and wide - the POWERbot goes everywhere
Finally, a few facts about the POWERbot.
It is especially flat and therefore fits under most beds and sofas. Very important in our house, because this is where the cat hair factory is.
Its Edge Clean Master technology ensures clean corners and room walls. After all, that's where most dirt accumulates.
The POWERbot has a self-cleaning brush. Long human hair is automatically shredded and vacuumed. Because my hair is all over the place too.
It automatically detects carpets and can easily overcome edges of up to 4 cm.
My conclusion about the Samsung POWERbot VR7000:
I am really amazed at how independently the robot vacuum cleans the apartment and systematically sweeps all rooms. It easily copes with obstacles like a collection of chair legs in the kitchen. Its suction power is very strong. The battery is enough for our entire apartment with 75sqm.
What is also very convincing is the low volume. This makes especially the cats very happy.
There is only one point of criticism from me, which does not even concern the POWERbot directly: Unfortunately, it is very difficult to establish a connection between the POWERbot and our W-Lan, which allows the operation via app.
What do you guys think about household aids like a vacuum robot? Are you thinking about buying one or is one already driving through your home? Or are you completely against such devices? I look forward to your comments.
